Xta’J is a Swiss DJ and electronic music producer rooted in the rave and trance culture of the late 1990s. Behind the decks since 1998, he brings together melodic expression, hypnotic grooves and psychedelic energy, with a musical language that spans psytrance, trance, techno and psytech.

At the heart of his music is a personal mission: to awaken the inner child in each of us — that sense of wonder, playfulness and freedom that everyday life can push into the background. For him, music is a gift to share: a way to express love, connect with others and create moments of collective joy. Whether behind the decks or dancing alongside the crowd, he finds inspiration in that shared experience.

For much of his journey, music developed alongside another professional career. Those years brought performances, creative projects and a lasting connection with the underground scene, but he had long doubted that he could build a sustainable livelihood as an artist based in Switzerland. Burning Man 2024 became the turning point. After playing four sets in the Black Rock Desert, he decided to make music his full-time professional focus. Since then, his priority has been to turn decades of experience into a sustainable artistic career through DJ performances, production and international bookings.

That commitment builds on a musical approach shaped over many years. Melody brings emotion; rhythm builds momentum; psychedelic textures invite curiosity. From deep, hypnotic grooves to intense dancefloor releases, he approaches each performance as a journey shaped by the people, the place and the moment.

Psytrance remains a central part of his musical identity. His sets explore the melodic drive of Full-On and the deeper textures of Forest and Twilight, while dedicated crossover journeys give space to his wider trance and techno influences. Each performance has its own direction, guided by a shared sensitivity to flow, contrast and connection.

His path has taken him to Burning Man, Lake Parade, MAD Lausanne and OXA Zürich. His professional commitment gained further momentum in 2026, when he won the Mystica DJ Contest at X-TRA Zürich and released his debut solo track, Acid Drops, followed by Welcome to the Upside Down, a collaboration with Z3nbugs on Digital Shamans Records.

Beyond music, his work as a laser show designer and operator extends his fascination with immersive experiences into light and space.
